Katie created Acorn Wellness through her natural drive to support others. Her creativity was allowed to thrive; inspiring the design and development of the place itself.
She loves being a central part of The Acorn and has found many interests and learning in all areas of Acorn offerings. Katie’s passion in supporting cancer patients has lead to the creation of the ‘Holistic Retreat Day for cancer patients’, a day retreat for people on the cancer journey primarily funded from our not fro profit ethos. She loves exploring wellness as a whole – mind, body and soul with these groups and supporting them from wherever they are at.
Having studied Whole Food Plant Based Living and received a nutrition certification for this, Katie loves to inspire others to make steps towards increasing plants within their own lifestyle and food choices. She is a Reiki practitioner and weaves this into her offerings and practices - holding reiki circles once a month.
In 2024, Katie finally found the space and determination to hone in on her passion and trained as a cacao carrier alongside learning the harmonium and mantras. She now holds a ‘Sacred Sound Circle’ twice a month and has collaborated with other team members to weave this magic into day retreats such as ‘The Sacred Pause’ and ‘Seasonal Elemental Retreats’ and to the overnight retreats.
Pranayama has become an essential practice in Katie’s personal life which she feels is a solid foundation to expand from and is therefore, holding pranayama classes for people to be empowered by this wonderful practice to bring the nervous system into safety and balance.
