Wintering Day Retreat 9:30am - 3:30pm
With Sarah St
A day to hunker down, soften & listen to the wisdom of winter.
“You may think yourself lazy, or flawed. Yet your body is made of almost exactly the same elements as the stars. Your bone composition matches perfectly the coral in the seas and you, my friend, are ruled by the moon and the sun. Whether you like it or not. So no, you are not lazy. nature is simply pulling you to slow, like the life, flora and fauna around you. It is not your moment to rise. It is winter, you are wintering. And you
are right on time.”
Wintering by Donna Ashworth
As the year draws inward and winter begins to wrap her arms around the earth, I invite you to do the same.
Come, hunker down for a deeply nourishing day of slowing the pace, softening the edges and leaning into the quiet magic of the season.
For one precious day, leave the busyness of the outside world behind.
The rooms will be illuminated by candlelight and twinkling fairy lights, the fire will glow, blankets will be waiting — and there will be nowhere else you need to be.
We will begin with a heart-opening sacred cacao ceremony, creating a gentle space to arrive, connect and turn inward. Around the winter altar, we will warm our bones with grounding movement and breath, tending to our bodies softly and without force.
For lunch, we will feast with nourishing bowls of hot, homemade soup and sweet treats, before settling into a slow winter afternoon — curled up by the fire, wrapped in blankets, listening to the crackle of the flames and simply allowing ourselves to rest.
As the afternoon deepens, we’ll journey into the flames through poetry & music, listening for the quiet wisdom held within the heart of winter.
Winter is a season of resting, rooting, replenishing and dreaming. A time to gather our energy inward and listen to what our hearts have been quietly whispering.
To honour the natural rhythm of life, trusting that beneath the stillness, something is quietly preparing to unfurl.
There will also be an opportunity to book a bespoke massage or treatment with Sarah Yates or Tiff after lunch, should you wish to deepen your experience with some nurturing touch.
And when it is time to leave, I hope you’ll carry with you more than just the warmth of the fire.
I hope you’ll leave wrapped in a blanket of love — your body deeply rested, your heart softened and your spirit replenished… ready to step gently into the magic, warmth and merriment of Christmas.
Come and winter with me. 🤍
